YOU
Families living in single-family homes who have had just about enough of settling for less, and are ready to invest in creating a garden renovation plan in order to reap huge benefits in improving the quality of their out door home life.
I don't help families who need the services of a Landscape Architect, or Landscape Contractor, or need landscape design for new home construction or new pools, although I am happy to help with a pool renovation or decommissioning.
ME
My last name, Foss, means waterfall in Norwegian. As a Garden Designer in creative service to my community, I aspire to explicitly or implicitly express the beauty and power of flowing falling waters in every garden. Nature girl to the core, my dedication is to nothing less than crafting the soul of your garden - your outdoor sanctuary for retreat, rest, renewal, connection, play, and celebration, the place where you feel deeply landed and in the flow of belonging with the earth and your kin. My years of hands-on work kneeling on the earth have honed my skill of quietly listening to and quickly learning from the "genius loci", or “spirit of the place”: the uniquely individual characteristics of the space, architecture, soil, air, water, and the flora and fauna co-inhabiting and enlivening the outdoor spaces we call “outside”.
My decades of work alongside many garden mentors (Eric & Silvina Blasen, Carolyn Atherton, Heather WIlson, Gary Lazar, Kirsten Leitner, Susan Miller, Aerin Moore, Michael Thilgen, Roxy Wolosenko) instilled in me the osmotic art of the co-creative design process, how space and scale form experiencing, of practical problem-solving, risking innovation, the discipline of designing to a budget and other project constraints, grokking the needs and desires of, and delivering on the dreams and vision of each family. I consider it an honor to weave this interdependent web between homeowners and the earth, and to collaborate with families in nurturing your relationship with nature through the design of the garden of your dreams.
